Qi Gong Series
with Janet Harrison
Dates TBA
6 sessions - $90 + GST

Qigong, pronounced chee-gung, is an ancient Chinese healing practice that has its roots in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Daoist philosophy and is used to develop and enrich the body’s internal energy, or qi. By experiencing the "mind" of our energy system through the use of breath, movement and meditation, qigong helps to improve health and promote harmony between body, mind and spirit.

JANET HARRISON is a physiotherapist and acupuncturist who has practiced in Vancouver for 18 years. Janet’s passion is Qigong. She has studied this movement art and been a practioner for 5 years, completing instructor training and certification in Boston, Massachusetts. Janet has pursued her love of movement practice from many perspectives; including modern dance, current studies in Body/Mind Centering at the Somatic Movement Education program and Pilates, for which she is certified instructor. Janet has devoted a lifetime to understand the bio dynamics of the energetic body yet continues to marvel at the flowing reciprocity between movement and spirit, body and insight.

Over the last few years I have begun to explore Traditional Chinese Medicine as a method of healing. I have long been curious about Qui Gong. This workshop was the first time I have ever truly felt the flow of energy through my body, and the first time I have ever been able to manipulate it. I was elated and have never felt more powerful or more aware in my body. I felt like I was flying. The feeling lasted for days. I can’t wait to join you for this series.
